Watlow’s line of on-off controllers is RoHS compliant.

Temperature and limit controllers from St. Louis-based Watlow are now compliant by design rather than by exception to the RoHS directive.

The European Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive (2002-95-EC) restricts the use of several substances. Being “compliant by design” means the company uses components that meet hazardous material restrictions outlined in the directive. Watlow’s line of on-off products includes the Series CV, LV, CF, LF and TM controllers.

The RoHS directive restricts the use substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexa-valent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers. While RoHS was developed for the European Union, similar requirements are being developed in other countries. In response, Watlow is proactively addressing these compliance issues.
