Established in 1972, Tempco's first manufactured products were Hi-Density cartridge heaters, and Duraband, a patented mica insulated band heater.
In early 1982, a modern full-service nonferrous foundry and machine shop for making aluminum and bronze cast-in heaters were set up, utilizing the permanent mold and no-bake sand process.
Today, Tempco manufactures many types of electric heating elements and temperature sensors in two facilities (combined 175,000 ft2) directly across the street from each other.
