Oven Used for Heating Wheel Resonators
Walk-in oven was delivered to a Tier 2 automotive manufacturer of rubber and plastic air-induction system parts as well as other under-hood components. Electrically heated with a maximum operating temperature of 350°F (176°C), the oven will be used to heat wheel resonators, which are used to reduce tire cavity noise. Other features include a top-mounted heater-box with 36 kW heat input and a 1,700 cfm high efficiency circulation fan delivering dual airflow to the workspace. Oven controls include a Eurotherm Nanodac temperature controller/recorder along with Eurotherm Mini 8 loop controller. All recorded process data is stored in an uneditable format, which was required to meet AMS2750 pyrometry standards. A 10" Pro-Face touchscreen HMI was included to allow the automotive supplier to control all oven operations from a single interface.
