For most industrial temperature measurements, the sensing element is never directly exposed to the process. The electronic element such as a thermocouple (TC), resistance temperature detector (RTD) or thermistor is encased inside a metallic enclosure, typically a section of stainless steel tubing closed at one end.
Process heating valves are automated with a number of technologies used to drive the movement of the valve — electric, pneumatic and hydraulic actuation, for instance. These operators normally have both automated and manual modes of operation.
Education programs at Endress+Hauser to train instrument technicians and engineers from the process automation industry in installation, programming and troubleshooting skills now can include IACET CEUs.
The Ethernet/IP to Modbus-TCP linking device allows users to connect devices on Modbus-TCP to a Rockwell ControlLogix or CompactLogix PLC. Users will benefit from the integration to Rockwell’s Studio5000 Logix Designer because all configurations are made from inside the software.
Two models, DewMaster and PDM75, are offered with the company’s X3 high performance chilled mirror moisture sensor. The sensor is a drift-free, primary method device with certification traceable to NIST.
