Maxitrol Co., a manufacturer of gas pressure regulators, gas modulation valves and electronic controls for gas systems, named David M. Holcomb as national sales manager. Industrial Combustion, Monroe, Wis., has selected the BurnerLogix control system from Fireye Inc., Derry, N.H., as standard equipment on all of its burners. Fireye is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp., Hartford, Conn. The control takes up 40 percent less space in the cabinet and has features such as adaptive infrared amplifiers that sense the difference between the gas pilot and main oil flame.

Paoli, Pa.-based Ametek Inc. acquired Land Instruments International Ltd., a global supplier of high-end analytical instrumentation based in Dronfield, United Kingdom. Land Instruments, with a product line that includes infrared temperature measurement, combustion efficiency and emissions-monitoring instruments, joins Ametek as part of its Electronic Instruments Group (EIG).
