Here's a chance to give and get help from colleagues, suppliers and other experts involved in heat processing.
What is a good reference book containing formulas for calculating required heat loads? For instance, we want to heat parts to 25°F over ambient. I would like to be able to calculate how many BTUs are required to do this. Any help you could provide would be appreciated. - B.R.
I recommend the Process Heating Technology Manual published by the Industrial Heating Equipment Association (IHEA). It has numerous tables and formulas for calculating required heat loads as well as other information that is useful for designing a thermal process. - Dan Roach, Despatch Industries, (612) 781-5363.
