Pittsburgh-based Chromalox has been awarded a patent for the advanced technology utilized in its MaxPac SCR product line. According to the company, its patented multi-directed airflow feature enhances the compact design. In addition, other features such as built-in power distribution, plug-and- play options, and the electronic heat sink temperature monitoring and warning system are unique in the power control components industry.

MaxPac SCRs can be custom engineered to suit a range of application requirements. Chromalox asserts that by utilizing the SCR's features such as physical size, flexible input/output wiring, built-in power distribution and touch-safe design, the customer receives reduced enclosure dimensions; reduced layout, design, and wiring time; reduced material costs (no need for power distribution blocks) and reduced metal fabrication time and material.
