IHEI and LTG Form Privately Owned Company

Kerr-McGee Plans Production Increase

Kerr-McGee Chemical LLC, Oklahoma City, plans a 10% increase in production capacity at its Kwinana titanium dioxide pigment plant located near Perth, Western Australia. The $10 million project is scheduled for completion in mid-2001.

Dr. Soldner Wins Young Scientist Award

Dr. Jorg Soldner, manager of research and development, Europe, at Modine Manufacturing Co., Racine, WI, won the Young Scientist 2000 Award from Eurotherm, the European committee for the advancement of thermal science and heat transfer. Soldner received the award for his thesis on the use of photoacoustics to measure heat.

Key Technology Acquires Two Companies, Increases Range of Service and Sales

Key Technology Inc., Walla Walla, WA, completed its acquisition of Farmco Inc., Redmond, WA, and Advanced Machine Vision Corp., which is composed of two subsidiaries: SRC Vision Inc., Medford, OR, and Ventek Inc., Eindhoven, Netherlands. The additions will allow Key Technology to service and sell a greater range of food processing machinery and machine vision systems.

IPC Awards Public Policy Champion and Hires New Executive Director

Dan Feinberg received the "Public Policy Champion Award" from IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries, Northbrook, IL, in a ceremony in Washington. The award is presented annually to an IPC member who has demonstrated leadership and dedicated his or her time and energy to further the organization's public policy goals. Also, IPC hired Dick Crowe as executive director of IPC California Circuits Association (CCA). Crowe was a past member of the IPC Technology Market Research Council Steering Committee and served on the board of directors for CCA.

Semiconductor Manufacturer Receives Rotor Concentrators from Munters Zeol.

Munters Zeol, a division of Munters Corp., Amesbury, MA, will provide Malaysian-based semiconductor manufacturer Silterra Sdn Bhd with three rotor concentrators to remove low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from its processing exhaust air stream. By using the rotor concentrators, Silterra Sdn Bhd will be able to remove 94% of VOCs from its low concentration exhaust air stream.

Applied Tech Products Acquires WEK, Kalberer Replaced as President

Applied Tech Products, formerly SKM Applied Technology Partners, Radnor, PA, acquired WEK Industries Inc., Jefferson, OH, a blow molder of plastic products and systems engineered specially for the automotive market. Effective with the acquisition, Anthony A. Martino will replace Walter E. Kalberer as president. Kalberer will remain with WEK through a transition period providing consultation.

Burkert USA Appoints New President

Hal J. Reisiger was appointed president of Burkert USA, Irvine, CA. Reisiger's appointment ends the succession of European personnel that previously headed Burkert's U.S. operations.

Gusmer-Admiral Forms Business Alliance, Reorganizes Staff

Gusmer-Admiral Inc., Akron, OH, formed a business alliance with CEH Group, Singapore. The alliance will operate under the name of RIM Polymers Industries PTE Ltd. and will market and sell Gusmer-Admiral polyurethane dispensing equipment and turnkey systems in China and the southern Pacific Rim.

Additionally, Gusmer-Admiral promoted Michael P. Bozzelli to director of engineering; promoted Gary R. Naylor to director of mechanical engineering; and hired Mark L. Burrows as sales engineer.
