Conference Focuses on Processing Dry Particulate
Powder & Bulk Solids Con-ference, an international forum for manufacturing professionals engaged in the processing, handling, testing, packaging, transportation and storage of dry particulate matter, is scheduled to take place May 7-11. The Donald E. Stephens Conven-tion Center (formerly the Rosemont Convention Cen-ter), Rosemont, IL, will play host to both it and a concurrent exhibition on May 8-10.
Exhibiting companies will offer machinery, equipment, containers, supplies and information systems. Design, pro-cess and production manufacturing engineering, quality control and engineering management professionals can expect to find equipment suitable for powder bulk applications in industries such as chemicals, food, rubber and plastics products, pharmaceuticals/cosmetics and paper. In addition, this year's show offers a number of new pavilions for attendees to visit addressing such topics as transportation and logistics; plant engineering and maintenance; packaging; and process automation, controls and drives.
The informational and educational conference program has been expanded to five days and will run concurrently with the exhibition. New features include an expanded conference lineup, an in-depth "Focus On" educational program, new conference tracks and a series of networking opportunities. The expanded applications-based conference program includes 45-minute seminars, three-hour workshops, six-hour tutorials and two-day advanced courses. Topics include e-business environmental issues, plant maintenance, packaging solids characterization and properties, solids handling and storage, and automation and instrumentation.
Returning are the daily Lunch and Learn program and the Information Resource Center. Lunch and Learn is free to all full and one-day conference attendees and is designed to bring participants together to exchange new ideas, share information and get answers to questions. Each table at the luncheon will be provided with a discussion topic of general interest. The
Information Resource Center will provide a marketplace where attendees can purchase books, publications and database information related to every aspect of dry processing and material handling.
