From Wenger Manufacturing, phase-transition analyzer measures the controlling (Tg) and melt (Tm) transitions of plastics or food during the extrusion process. The unit is a closed-end chamber capillary rheometer that uses a combination of pressure, temperature, time and moisture to measure biopolymers. Two sealed chambers prevent sample moisture loss and are separated by an interchangeable capillary die. Sample chamber is of fixed volume, and constant pressure is maintained throughout the test. Sample movement, which is tracked and recorded during testing, determines the sample's controlling Tg and Tm.
