Refractory sheet type RSLE-57 is a low thermal expansion, high strength, silica composite product designed for use as a structural insulator in high thermal shock-prone induction hot presses. FromZircar Refractory Composites Inc., the product is a combination of amorphous silica reinforcing material and a silica ceramic matrix. The material exhibits useful properties to temperatures of 2,102oF (1,150oC). In addition, it is 99.7% SiO2, 100% inorganic and available as standard boards in a size of 24 x 36" and thicknesses from 0.25 to 2".
