Alfa Laval, a manufacturer of separation, heat transfer and fluid handling equipment, established a Process Technology Center in Richmond, VA, as part of a global reorganization. The center makes the company unusual in that it supplies all process products and applications technologies in a single site. "This means we have concentrated our expertise on heat transfer and separation for the chemical process industries, food industries, energy and environment," said Sven Sjogren, president of the newly formed Process Technology Division.

A total of 50 process engineers specializing in both separation and heat transfer technologies are located in the Richmond facility. The Process Technology Division's main products are heat exchangers, centrifuges and decanters, which are manufactured in a number of global locations. In addition to the Process Technology Center, Richmond also is home to heat exchanger manufacturing and service as well as Alfa Laval Shared Services Center.
