Minneapolis-based Despatch Industries, a designer and manufacturer of thermal processing equipment, combined with Ransco Industries, Oxnard, Calif., a designer and manufacturer of environmental test and simulation equipment, to offer customers a broader product line.

Despatch, celebrating its centennial this year, specializes in above-ambient thermal processing equipment, including industrial and clean process ovens and fully integrated thermal processing systems. Ransco, founded in 1948 and affiliated with Despatch since 1982, when it was acquired by the same group of privately held investors that own Despatch, specializes in below-ambient thermal processing equipment.

Despatch will continue to market the Ransco brand of temperature-humidity systems, calorimeters, thermal shock chambers, drive-in acoustic and corrosion chambers, wind tunnels and emissions test facilities. Production and distribution of these products has already begun in the Despatch manufacturing facility in Lakeville, Minn. Ransco product management, design and support will remain in Oxnard, and in September, Ransco's service and support facility in Detroit will move to a new and larger location.
