George Fischer Piping Systems Ltd., Tustin, Calif., was named a recipient of Intel Corp.'s 2003 Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) Award, Intel's highest honor for its suppliers, for outstanding commitment to quality and performance by suppliers that provide products and services deemed essential to Intel's success. The company was given the award for its efforts in supplying the Santa Clara, Calif., electronics giant with thermoplastic piping systems. To qualify for SCQI status, suppliers must score at least 95 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. George Fischer Piping Systems Ltd. and 15 additional SCQI award winners were honored at a celebration in Burlingame, Calif.

Moore Industries-International Inc., North Hills, Calif., a manufacturer of process control instrumentation, has opened a sales and service office in Bahrain. The office will support Moore Industries' expanding customer base in the Middle East by providing localized customer support. Nabil Nader will serve as director of the new office and will be responsible for developing sales channel, OEM and technology partnerships.
