A subcommittee of Industrial Heating Equipment Association's (IHEA) Safety and Standards Committee is in the process of developing a guide to identify the main differences between the American and European standards used for industrial ovens and furnaces.

The cooperative effort involves representatives of both the European Committee of Industrial Furnace and Heating Equipment Associations (CECOF) and IHEA. Development of an NFPA 86/EN746-2 Guide rather than a comprehensive cross map was considered a more practical approach to the study. The two organizations will be concentrating on developing an executive summary that will focus on the "main" differences.
