Emerson Process Management, Austin, Texas, a business of Emerson, won a $10 million contract from Shaanxi HanCheng Second Power Co. Ltd. to install instrumentation and control systems for the first 600 MW power plant in the northwest China Shaanxi Province.
The new power plant, initially consisting of two 600 MW coal-fired units, will be built near HanCheng City, Shaanxi Province. The plant is needed to meet the rapidly growing demand for reliable power in the region. The project is funded by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation.
