In alignment with the expansion of its industrial automation (IA) operations in North America, Yokogawa Corp. of America, Newnan, Ga., is constructing a new office in Houston. The company plans to move its IA Systems business unit, IA instrument sales and Measurement Integration Group headquarters to the new facility when complete in June 2005. The company's focus on cultivating new customers in the energy industry, highlighted by its relocation of the controls systems headquarters to Houston in 2002, was recently validated by a $50 million order secured from Shell Chemical LP. Yokogawa will coordinate an instrumentation equipment renewal project for the Shell Chemical plant in Norco, La.
