ISO 9001 certificates are awarded for comprehensive planning and implementation of a quality management system. The certification is focused on a commitment to continuous improvement.

Toronto-based Winters Instruments, a multinational industrial instrumentation

organization, acquired Commercial Thermowell, Richmond, Va.

Kenneth P. Zak was named business unit director at Megtec Systems’ Industrial & Environmental Products Group, De Pere, Wis.

Dodge Elkins joined Magtrol Inc., Buffalo, N.Y., to oversee its North and South American sales activities.

ACS Group, Wood Dale, Ill., appointed Brian Hogan as CFO. He is responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of ACS Group and its affiliated organizations. Also at ACS Group, Richard Kobor was named vice president of operations.

Pittsburgh-based Chromalox received ISO 9001 certification at its LaVergne, Tenn., operations, where the company designs, manufactures and services electronic controls and heating cable.

Alloy Engineering Co., Berea, Ohio, acquired the hardware fabrication business assets and capabilities of TEI/Rolock, a thermal-processing systems manufacturer. Alloy closed TEI/Rolock’s facility, which was located in New Britain, Conn.

Scott Specialty Gases, headquartered in Plumsteadville, Pa., appointed Harold Mynster as group vice president and general manager of its Fremont, Calif.-based Semiconductor Group.

Phil Witkin joined C.A. Litzler Co. Inc., Cleveland, as a product manager, focusing on textile, plastic film and converting industries.

MycroSensor Technologies, Phoenix, a manufacturer of measurement and sensor products for process industries, named Jim Braden as sales manager.

Zircar Ceramics Inc., Floria, N.Y., entered an alliance with Naoi Kizai, Beijing. A significant part of the alliance includes the establishment of stock of many of Zircar’s standard high-temperature thermal insulation and ceramic fiber products in China. The Chinese inventory is expected to be in place by February 2003.
