Alloy Engineering Co., Berea, Ohio, acquired the hardware fabrication business assets and capabilities of TEI/Rolock, a thermal-processing systems manufacturer. Alloy closed TEI/Rolock’s facility, which was located in New Britain, Conn.

Scott Specialty Gases, headquartered in Plumsteadville, Pa., appointed Harold Mynster as group vice president and general manager of its Fremont, Calif.-based Semiconductor Group.

MycroSensor Technologies, Phoenix, a manufacturer of measurement and sensor products for process industries, named Jim Braden as sales manager.

Zircar Ceramics Inc., Floria, N.Y., entered an alliance with Naoi Kizai, Beijing. A significant part of the alliance includes the establishment of stock of many of Zircar’s standard high-temperature thermal insulation and ceramic fiber products in China. The Chinese inventory is expected to be in place by February 2003.
