Efficient combustion of liquid fuels depends on the ability to atomize the liquid into small drops. Heavy fuel oils are difficult to atomize, leading to higher emissions and inefficient operation. HERO gun fromJohn Zink Co.uses a phase atomization scheme to consistently provide a median liquid droplet size of less than 10 Km with lower atomizing steam usage. The device combines atomization in two phases.
