The U.S. Department of Energy Information Administration is a one-stop source for energy information. EIA has four types of information available for companies whose bottom line is significantly impacted by their use of energy: energy data, analyses, forecasts and descriptive information, which gives details on each of its products.

Many items, such as “Petroleum Supply Monthly,” deal with specific industries. Some key publications that present data on different fuel types are “Monthly Energy Review,” “Annual Energy Review,” “Short-Term Energy Outlook” and “Annual Energy Outlook.”

Short-term forecasts consider conditions six to eight quarters ahead. EIA also provides e-mail notification about updated data and newly released reports. Sign up at www.eia.doe.gov/listserv_signup.html.
