Combustion-equipment maker Eclipse Inc., Rockford, Ill., and its employees have pledged $23,000 to assist with tsunami disaster relief. The pledge is a combined donation collected from Eclipse employees worldwide with a matching company donation.

North Hills, Calif.-based Moore Industries-International Inc., a manufacturer of interface instruments for industrial process control, system integration and factory automation, has earned the San Fernando Valley Engineers' Council Distinguished Engineering Project Achievement Award for exceptional commitment to safety and successful completion of IEC 61508 Certification. IEC 61508 is a process-based standard that applies to the entire lifecycle of a product, from conception and design stages through its manufacturing, application, maintenance and final decommissioning. According to Moore, it is the first U.S. company to successfully obtain IEC 61508 certification to design and manufacture process instrumentation hardware for safety-related applications. Moore Industries is a founding member of an IEC 61508 consortium in Europe.

The Fluorinated Fluids Group at Solvay Solexis, Thorofare, N.J., has named Carl Neuser NAFTA sales manager for Fomblin PFPE products. In addition to overseeing sales for the United States, Canada and Mexico, he will help expand business opportunities for the lubricants product line.
Neuser assumes the role previously held by Fabrizio Ponte, who has been appointed country manager for Solvay Solexis sales activities in the People's Republic of China. Solvay Solexis, with world headquarters in Bollate, Italy, focuses on fluorinated
materials within the Solvay Group.

Chris Pilko was named president of Nabertherm USA, New Castle, Del. With global headquarters near Breman, Germany, Nabertherm manufactures ovens, kilns and furnaces and ovens.

Scott Trotman was appointed national sales manager for Crowcon Detection Instruments USA, Milford, Ohio. A division of Halma p.l.c., Crowcon manufactures portable and fixed gas detection instruments.

St. Louis-Watlow appointed Peter Gonzalez to end-user channel manager for North America. Gonzalez will assume overall responsibility for growing and supporting the company's non-OEM and distributor sales channels in the United States and Canada. Within this role, Gonzalez's specific responsibilities will include developing and executing sales growth strategies, strengthening distributor relationships, guiding and supporting Watlow's sales force and developing appropriate growth policies, procedures and programs.
