Ziralcast-76 is a combination of pyrotechnically treated calcium silicate raw materials in an castable refractory form. Initially developed for molten aluminum contact applications, the material offers good hot strength and dimensional stability. It is nonwetting and exhibits high thermal shock resistance, making it suited to use as nozzles for continuous casting, transition plates, rings, plugs, baffles, troughs, spouts, floats and filter boxes.
