Hart Communication Foundation, Austin, Texas, is seeking nominees for its 2004 Hart Plant of the Year Award. This global award recogniz- es innovative use of Hart process automation technology in real-time process plant applications.
Hart field communications protocol is a global standard for smart process instrumentation communication. More than 14 million Hart-capable devices are installed worldwide. It is reported that 70 percent of all smart process measurement and control instruments installed each year communicate using this technology.
Suppliers can nominate customers and end users can nominate themselves. Background information and supporting materials are welcome but are not required for consideration. Foundation representatives will review submissions and interview selected candidates.
Nominations should include a description of how the plant uses the intelligent capabilities of Hart-enabled devices in real-time applications with plant control, safety and asset management systems to improve operations, lower costs and increase plant availability. You may be using this protocol on your ovens or dryers, which would qualify your plant to be nominated.
Nominations are encouraged from all world areas and will be accepted through May 28. The 2004 Hart Plant of the Year and selected finalists will be recognized at the ISA Conference and Exhibition in Houston on October 4. For more information, call (512) 794-0369 or visit www.hartcomm.org.
