The most common application for the new heat exchangers is catalytic reforming, a process that produces high-octane gasoline from naphtha (low-octane gasoline). Other applications include processes that remove the sulfur in gasoline and diesel, and production of petrochemicals used in manufacturing polymers and detergents.
Alfa Laval Acquires Packinox

Alfa Laval's acquisition of Packinox S.A., a company based in France, has expanded its presence in oil, gas and refinery applications. The new Alfa Laval Packinox plate heat exchangers are used mainly for preheating and aftercooling substances for catalytic processes. They can cope with extremely high temperatures and pressures.
