Solid-State Relays Have Current-Monitoring Feature
November 1, 2006
RJCS Series is capable of switching 50 A single-phase AC loads at up to 660 VAC when controlled by a 4 to 32 VDC signal. Its internal current-sensing circuitry monitors and reacts to a number of load failure conditions, and the alarm functions can be set locally or remotely from a standard PLC. Internal overtemperature and overcurrent protection are standard. The microprocessor-controlled solid-state relays are designed for industrial heating equipment where load failures need to be monitored for and prevented. It can monitor, report and react to partial or complete load failure; line voltage loss; open thyristor circuit; under- and overcurrent during a “teach” procedure; and thyristor short circuits, among others.
