Cincinnati, Ohio-based Effox Inc. was purchased by Ceco Environmental Corp., a provider of air-pollution control and ventilation systems, also located in Cincinnati. Effox engineers and manufacturers dampers and expansion joints for use in flue gas and process air-handling systems and is a provider of equipment to the power industry. The company also provides design, rebuild and repair services for existing industrial systems.

Effox had $28 million in sales last year with a year-end backlog of $34 million, which, if combined with Ceco’s backlog, would have been $131 million. Ceco expects to increase its presence in the power industry via the acquisition.
