Watt-Flex has a continuous coil inserted into an Incoloy tube, insulated with magnesium oxide and formed into semicircular sections that are bent together, creating a round insertion heater. Providing an even heat profile up to 1,850oF (1,010oC), the design of the split-sheath cartridge heaters lets each half of the heater expand independently outward against the walls of the surrounding bore for maximum heat transfer, even in oversized bores. They are manufactured to specification in 0.25 to 1" and 8 to 25 mm diameters up to 90" long. The heaters contract when de-energized to ease installation and removal.
