Two major projects initiated to improve deliveries of thermal processing components have been completed at Selas Heat Technology Co.’s Montgomeryville, Pa., headquarters.

A new kiln, completed in December 2007, was the first project and is expected to add capacity to the existing production of ceramic burners for the installed base of furnaces. All Selas burners are manufactured in-house using propriety pressed and fired ceramics process technology.

In addition, the company completed the commissioning of an on-site machine shop. The company will use the facility for turning, milling and grinding cast housings used to manufacture high-precision components for burners and combustion systems equipment. Selas’ ownership committed significant funding for this installation to reduce order lead times.
