Model TCS reduces the cost of transmitting multiple temperature sensor measurements in general-purpose and hazardous area applications by concentrating up to 32 signals onto one network. The temperature concentrator can be configured to accept any combination of RTD, thermocouple, millivolt and resistance/potentiometer signal inputs. It converts the inputs to the Hart digital communication protocol and transmits the data long distances from the field to the control room via a Hart digital data link. All process, status and diagnostic information can then be accessed by a Hart-based DCS.
