Intended for industrial and commercial water potable applications, the Water Source Heat Pump uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-134a. The water heater gathers heat from a warm-water source and, through the refrigeration cycle, deposits the heat into potable water at a useable temperature. This principle of moving heat with a heat pump rather than generating it by burning fossil fuel or electric-resistance heating makes water heating with heat pumps a good choice for energy conservation.
