The all-on-machine papermaking equipment from Metso produces printing and writing paper grades.


A Metso-supplied lightweight-coated papermaking line has come on stream at China's Henan Puyang Longfeng Paper Co. Ltd., in Puyang City, Henan province. The new line produces printing and writing paper grades.

The smooth startup of the ~26' wide (7.9 m) paper machine went as planned. "Together with the skilled Metso site group, we achieved an on-schedule installation and ensured the quality of the processes and startup," says Wang Gen, the mill's vice general manager.

Metso delivered a complete all-on-machine OptiConcept paper machine, from the headbox to reel with coating and multi-nip calendering. Related stock preparation and air systems, as well as wet-end chemicals and coating color-preparation systems, were included. The automation package contained process, machine and quality controls as well as runnability and condition-monitoring systems.
