Coating on a Tight Budget
June 19, 2009
A powder coater struggling with temperature uniformity as well as a limited budget for a new batch oven found help with its problem with Industrial Combustion Engineers Inc., Gary, Ind.
The solution was Industrial Combustion’s walk-in curing batch oven with cross-flow that provides heated air near the floor and a roof return. The design accommodates all work shapes without the typical “cold spot” that results in poor powder coatings, says Leonard Nowak, application engineer at Industrial Combustion. All recirculation and burner equipment is mounted on the back wall, allowing the narrowest profile possible.
Nowak says the oven provides his customer with several advantages:
- Operating flexibility for fast turnaround.
- Unequaled temperature uniformity.
- Minimum floor space with maximum inside dimensions.
- Solid structure and heavy-duty construction for easy moving and years of operation.
