Chromalox, Pittsburgh, a manufacturer of
electric heat and control products, was awarded ATEX certification for its
manufacturing facilities located in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. By meeting the European
Union’s ATEX regulations, the Mexican facilities’ products are certified as
safe for use in areas where potentially explosive concentrations of gas, vapor,
mist or dust may occur. ATEX certification allows the products to be marketed
in European countries.

Babcock Wanson UK Ltd., Hertfordshire, United
Kingdom, received a contract for a turnkey steam boiler house for the world’s
largest municipal solid-waste treatment plant being built using specialist
steam autoclave technology. Designed to treat waste from up to 500,000 households
in the local area plus a range of commercial and industrial solid waste, the
$71.9 million Enpure Ltd., project is being built by Graphite Resources, Gateshead
and main contractor Clugston Construction. As a key supplier, Babcock Wanson
will provide the complete boiler house plant with accumulator to provide the
peak load of steam.
Yokogawa Australia, Adelaide, was awarded the
contract to replace the control and instrumentation systems at Section B of
Adelaide’s Torrens Island Power Station, owned by AGL Energy Ltd. The contract
is estimated at $18 million for Australia’s largest gas-fired power

Albuquerque, has received the 13th annual Outstanding Research/Science Park
