Product diversity has kept one company in business for 60 years, leading to its latest oven design.

Product diversity, the hallmark of Grieve Corp., Round Lake, Ill., has kept the company in business for 60 years, leading to its latest oven design. The No. 840 cabinet oven, used to dry coating on fishing line, is a 500°F (260°C) electrically heated, two-zone vertical airflow unit.

Workspace dimensions of the top heating chamber measure 36 x 12 x 36" and the lower chamber is 36 x 12 x 60". The 30 kilowatts installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular heating elements (15 kW per chamber) provide the heat. Two 1,000 cfm, 1 hp recirculating blowers provide vertical airflow in each heating zone. Safety and control equipment on No. 840 include digital-indicating temperature controllers, manual-reset excess temperature controllers with separate contactors, and recirculating blower-airflow safety switches for each heating zone.
