Its coefficient of thermal expansion is 2.5 in/in/°F x 10-6. The machinable ceramic can be used in oxidizing, reducing or vacuum atmospheres, and it will not outgas in ultra high vacuum After a simple firing procedure, it is fully dense and resistant to 2,100°F (1,150°C)..
