QMax utilizes high efficiency conductive heat transfer rather than convective heat transfer. Its design maximizes the heat input of a regular stainless steel or copper tube tracer. The heating surface area is increased to as much as 3" using highly conductive aluminum. A single tracer and the fluid tracing system (FTS) can achieve the same results as multiple tube tracers or even jacketed pipe, according to the company. The heat transfer equipment can be used for process temperature or minimum pipe wall temperature maintenance; light-duty process heat up and critical process freeze protections.
