Alfa Laval Group, Stockholm, a manufacturer of heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid-handling equipment, has acquired a U.S. service company specializing in plate heat exchangers, which will add sales of about $13.8 million. The company will remain a separate organization as it will continue to offer its own products and services to the industry under its own brand.
ECD of Milwaukie, Ore., a manufacturer of thermal profiling equipment and software, has received a patent on its “OK Button,” which is standard on its MegaM.O.L.E. 20 and V-M.O.L.E. thermal profilers, as well as being a feature of the company’s newly released OvenChecker. The press of a button gives a “go/no go” decision based on an engineer’s preloaded specifications for the desired thermal profile, saysGrant Peterson, vice president of marketing and sales. The easily understood green light for “go” and red light for “no go” frees engineers from having to address every profile run, enabling more runs per day, he says.
