Diesel engines or turbines are used for the production of electricity in power plants. The schematic on the reverse side shows a diesel engine plant. Energy costs are increasing, and it is desirable to economically recover heat wherever possible. Using a closed-loop circuit, heat can be recovered out of the lubricating oil, jacket water, and the heat transfer oil.

The water, which has been preheated by the charge-air cooling water, is heated up to as high as 60°C (140°F). Mueller Accu-Therm plate heat exchangers -- with their very high efficiency, small space requirements, and versatility -- are a good choice for power plant heat recovery projects.

Established in 1940, Paul Mueller Company is a leading manufacturer of industrial processing systems and equipment.
