Metso Corp., Helsinki, will supply Belgium-based 4HamCogen S.A., a subsidiary of 4Energy Invest S.A., with a biomass power plant for combined heat and power production in the municipality of Ham in the Belgian province of Limburg.
The modular biomass power plant will use bubbling fluidized bed technology and non-contaminated biomass as the main fuel. The new cogeneration plant will feed 8.4 MW of electricity into the distribution grid and will be able to deliver up to 14 MW of heat.
Plant startup is scheduled for second quarter 2011. Metso’s share of the investment is approximately $42.5 million.
