U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner got a crash course in the latest technologies offered by Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions as the company hosted its high profile guest.
Roger Fradin, president and CEO of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions, invited Geithner to its headquarters in Golden Valley, Minn., to illustrate the extensive range of technologies offered across Honeywell's businesses. Geithner's high technology immersion included Honeywell's "energy efficiency portfolio and how our technologies and solutions are being used to reduce energy consumption and emissions, and can create green jobs,” Fradin says. Nearly 60 percent of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions’ product portfolio, and 50 percent of Honeywell’s product portfolio company-wide, are linked to energy efficiency and renewable energy.
According to Honeywell, the secretary’s visit follows a tradition of the U.S. president sending out cabinet members to tour America after a State of the Union Address. Geithner toured the Golden Valley site and spoke to a roundtable of visitors, including Minnesota congressmen and mayors, about the need to continue to grow the U.S. economy by creating energy efficient, green jobs.
