Heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling manufacturer Alfa Laval has received an $8.4 million order for heat exchangers and fluid handling and tank-cleaning equipment to be used in the production of a major health drink brand in India.
The equipment will be used to produce a malted milk hot drink. This is Lund, Sweden-based Alfa Laval’s second order to the plant, which will expand production capacity substantially.
“We have a leading position in the growing food market in India – a growth driven by improved living standards and thereby the increasing need for processed food,” says Lars Renström, Alfa Laval Group's president and CEO.
Alfa Laval has had a presence in India since 1937, where about 40 percent of the company's turnover is related to food.
