With the ability to inspect tubes times faster than existing methods, acoustic-based technology allows companies to fully test their heat exchangers. The Dolphin system, based on acoustic pulse reflectometry (APR), is a non-invasive, non-destructive testing (NDT) technology. The device emits a series of acoustic waves and then measures the resulting reflections. The software assigns a different signature to each type of flaw, allowing the system to identify defects, then pinpoint the location and determine the severity of each problem, all without human interaction or interpretation.
