Toronto-based Winters Instruments launched an e-mail service for end users to alert them when their test certificates for installed instrumentation near expiration.
Test certificates typically carry a one-year validity period. To ensure that thermometers and pressure gauges are operating normally as specified and measuring accurately, calibration and the issuing of test certificates are recommended annually.
Users of Winters' calibration service can register their Winters test certificates with the e-mail service and help ensure their companies maintain proper documentation. Registration can be made online through Winters' website. Three reminder e-mails will be sent: eight, four, and two weeks before the original expiration date. Winters test certificates are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
