"Energy Efficiency Projects: Overcoming Internal Barriers to Implementation," the latest in the DOE Industrial Technologies Program's Thursday webcast series, will be held on September 2, at 2 p.m. ET.

According to ITP, the presentation will focus on overcoming internal barriers to the funding or implementation of energy efficiency projects and will address:
  • Gaining corporate buy-in and/or support initiating corporate accountability.
  • Creative funding.
  • Justifying project payback periods.
  • Overcoming "principal-agent" issues.
  • Resource education and allocation.
The webcast will be presented by Gary Satler, manager of engineering, maintenance and safety at the Sherwin-Williams Co., and Walter Brockway, manager of Global Energy Efficiency at Alcoa Inc. Both Sherwin-Williams and Alcoa,Inc. have partnered with ITP as Save Energy Now Leader companies, pledging to reduce their facilities' energy intensity 25 percent in 10 years.
