- Temporarily position cable on pipe and equipment to ensure proper distribution.
- Leave a loop of cable at heat sinks such as valves, pipe supports and flange sets. Use fiberglass tape to secure cable to pipe at 18" (455 mm) interfalves using recommended method.
- Always observe the minimum bend radius.
Heat tracing systems are designed so that the pipe temperature can be maintained at a specified minimum ambient.
A control system composed of RTD temperature sensors and microprocessor control will provide indication of all of the critical heat trace parameters. However, it is important to understand the poper heating cable/sensor location for proper temperature measurement.
