Biodegradable oil-based lubricant and coating paint is intended for use at temperatures from ambient to 1,832°F (1,000°C). Its lubrication is based on both organic and inorganic ingredients: a high-flashpoint methylated seed oil (MSO) and a ceramic mixture of boron nitride, graphite and titanium dioxide, which are chemically inert lubricating materials. In laboratory testing, Keralon-B is an oily mixture at room temperature. It can be heated to 392°F (200°C) for 8 to 10 hr to create a dry-film lubricant.
