Helsinki-based Metso Corp. has completed one big project and is set to begin another.
The company supplied the PM 1 tissue-making line at SCA in
Mexico at the mill's greenfield site in Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo State. The new
line has an annual production capacity of more than 60,000 tons of high-quality
facial, toilet and towel grades.
Metso delivered a complete turn-key tissue production line
including a tissue machine, deinking plant, effluent plant, stock preparation
system and mill-wide automation package, plus all other auxiliary equipment and
systems needed for the mill.
The new project set to begin this year is a $20.5 million biomass
power plant for Oü Helme Energia in Estonia for combined heat and power
production in the township of Helme. The plant will use bubbling fluidized-bed
technology and the combination of spruce bark, chipped-logging residues, and
wood chips or milled peat as the main fuels. The plant will produce 15 MW of
heat and 6.4 MW of electricity, which will partly be used in its own pellet factory
and the rest will be distributed into the national grid.
