The National Coil Coating Association (NCCA) in Cleveland has presented three awards to member companies that have demonstrated excellence in safety as part of its annual safety award program.

Steelscape, Kalama, Wash., received two awards: the 2010 Safety Award and the 2010 Safety Award for Best Employee Involvement. Metal Prep in Houston received the 2010 award for the Most Improved Safety Performance. The awards were presented at the NCCA’s meeting in September.

For many years, NCCA has collected data to help its coater member companies with facilities in the United States. This data has been used primarily to help association members benchmark their operations and share best practices, as well as to benchmark the industry against other industries. The data also is used to select the finalists in the annual award program. The winner is selected based on the company's safety record and demonstration of excellence through the safety programs that it has implemented.
