A vegetable-oil plant in India has placed a $10.2 million order for separators, mixers and heat exchangers from Alfa Laval, Lund, Sweden, for refining different types of crude oils such as soy bean oil into high quality oils.
“We continue to see a good development in India,” says Lars Renström, Alfa Laval Group president and CEO. “The latest order confirms the positive trend in the country’s food and vegetable oil industry.”
The system should be operational in 2012. According to Alfa Laval, the Indian edible oil industry is expected to grow six percent annually by 2015. The growth in India and other developing countries has been driven by increased living standards and a growing population.
