A $14.1 million cooking plant and fiber-line upgrade to the Khon Kaen mill
of Phoenix Pulp & Paper Co. in Thailand is scheduled for a July 2012
startup.
Supplied by Metso, Helsinki, the equipment includes a two-vessel compact
cooking G2 digester to produce 200,000 tons of eucalyptus pulp per year. The
cooking system will enable the mill to increase production capacity and use raw
material more efficiently while reducing environmental impact.
Delivery also includes a Metso TwinRoll wash press for the fiber line
upgrade.
